What I like best about my job is making soap. I learned the technique of soap upcycling when I started working at ANACAONA and I am proud to have a new skill I am good at. When I am at home, I spend a lot of time cleaning the house and doing laundry. |
ASMIDE
Participating in World Handwashing Day is always so much fun because I get to distribute to children the soap I make with the production team. I have a son, so when I am home, I spend time helping him do his homework. |
RAYMONDE
My first job at ANACAONA was as a Hygiene Ambassador. I liked working in our partner schools with the children. Now that I work with the production team, I enjoy making liquid soapWhen I am not working, I love watching my favorite TV shows! |
OUR HYGIENE AMBASSADORS
STEPHANIA
My favorite activity is helping the production team sew Menstrual Hygiene Pads.Sewing is my hobby, so, on weekends, I also like teaching teenage girls living in my neighborhood how to sew. |
CLAUDY
I love working with remote communities in Mirebalais and Anse d’Hainault. It is so different from Port-au-Prince’s urban jungle. Outside of work, I enjoy photography and learning how to take good quality pictures. I also like day trips to the beach. |
FRANCESCA
I enjoy every aspect of my job, but what I prefer is seeing how well we are accepted in Cite-Soleil. It is a difficult place to work so it’s a nice feeling to know we are appreciated. In my downtime, I like to visit historical sites in Haiti and learn more on the internet. |

What I prefer in my job is conducting our weekly Menstrual Health Focus Groups.I love connecting with my community and answering their questions.When I am not working, I enjoy reading the Bible ! |
OUR DRIVER
RAPHAEL
The best thing about my job is to deliver soap to our partner hospitals, communities and organizations. I was very busy right after the 2021 August earthquake and helped transport more than 11,000 liters of soap to families in need. On weekends, I usually spend time working on my moto’s maintenance. I clean parts and make sure everything runs smoothly. |

WINTER
- COUNTRY MANAGER - What I always look forward to is spending time with our partner communities living in the countryside, in our sites of the Center and Grand Anse Regions. I also enjoy implementing training sessions to new partner schools. My favorite weekends are spent at the beach ! |
LAURE
- FOUNDER - I first arrived in Haiti in 2012 during the Cholera Epidemic as a WASH Specialist. After working with several Non-Profits and the UN, I co-founded ANACAONA Community with the wish to empower Haitians with long-term job opportunities and better hygiene. It is an honor and a forever adventure to work hand-in-hand with this inspiring team! |

- MENSTRUAL HEALTH - PROGRAM MANAGER What I prefer in my job is training primary school teachers on Menstrual Health. There is so much to learn and so many taboos to break. When I am not working, my favorite activities are reading and sleeping ! |

- COMMUNICATIONS / M&E - My first role with ANACAONA was to support The community Management efforts. Now head of the M&E activities, I am in touch with the team weekly which gives me great insight in the daily work. As I live in France, I really appreciate being in touch with the team as much as possible. My favorite hobbies are sports, singing and playing the guitar, reading at the beach and photography ! |
